LaVon Camilla Stewart Obituary
LaVon Camilla Stewart

LaVon Camilla Stewart (Erdman), 91, passed away from renal failure on July 15, 2013 at her home in San Marcos, California. She was born on April 9, 1922 in Lignite, North Dakota. She married Dorian Stewart on September 7, 1943 in Seattle, Washington. She had two children, Lance Stewart and Sharee Ellis (Stewart) while living in Seattle. She moved to California with her family in 1957 and worked as a waitress at the Cockatoo Inn in Hawthorne. Soon after the fire that destroyed the Cockatoo, LaVon began working as a waitress at the Dal Rae in Pico Rivera, where she continued to work for 41 years until she retired in 1999. Many of her co-workers from the Dal Rae became life long friends. LaVon loved her friends and family, and also enjoyed going to the horse races, traveling to see friends and family around the country and playing slots. She was an amazing, strong woman who was cherished by everyone who knew her. She will be dearly missed and remain in all of our hearts forever. Her services were held privately by the family. She is survived by her son, Lance Stewart; granddaughter, Caylon Ellis; grandson, Zack Ellis; granddaughters, Jenny and Tracy; grandson, Sean Stewart; sister-in-law, Betty Toth; nieces, Dolores Romano, Cindy Andrews and Marlys Haaland and several other nieces and nephews.
