Henry Lee Biggs
August 26, 1920 - July 13, 2016

Lee Biggs was born and raised in Long Beach, CA. He was the only child of Henry Leland Biggs and Marie Ida (Stiepan) Biggs. Lee attended Southern California Military Academy. In 1944, during World War II, Lee served in the Philippines as an Infantry Lieutenant and Platoon Leader. He was very proud of serving in the United States Army. It was an unforgettable experience for him!

In 1940 he married Adele Warren, also of Long Beach, CA. In 1953 they moved to Palos Verdes Estates, CA. They were married for 63 years before the passing of Adele in 2003. Lee is survived by his three loving children Gary (Gretchen), Diane Marsh (Greg), Steven (Julie) and two grandsons, Travis Biggs and Karl Biggs.

Lee spent his entire career as an Engineering Design Specialist in the Aircraft and Aerospace Industry. He worked for Douglas Aircraft, McDonnell Douglas and Northrup. He found his work to be very gratifying.

Lee's many interest and hobbies included: custom knife maker, competition pistol shooter and expert fly fisherman. He enjoyed gardening and cooking, growing his own chilies for his Mexican recipes. His passions were painting and drawing, specializing in portraits. He also did fabulous stilllifes and landscapes. As a long time member of the Palos Verdes Art Association and the Torrance Art Association, he won many ribbons throughout the years.

His life was filled with many loving friends. After the passing of his beloved Adele, he became active in a local bereavemnt group. He loved to cook and to entertain his family and friends, especially--in the summertime---on his shaded patio.

Lee passed away from complications of pneumonia--just six weeks shy of his 96th Birthday.
