Leonard Urban, 93, of Newport Beach, CA passed away peacefully in his sleep with his family by his side. Born in Utica, NY, he was a Naval pilot during WWII and a retired Naval lieutenant. During his 34 year aerospace career he worked as an engineer in the South Bay area at both Hughes Aircraft and TRW. Leonard and his wife, Naomi were married 70 years. They were founding members and patrons of the South Bay Chamber Music Society. In retirement they spent years traveling the world together. In 1986, they moved to Orange County to be near family. Leonard is survived by his wife, Naomi; daughter, Jacqueline Kirschbaum of Oakland, CA and her husband, Alan; son, Douglas of Laguna Beach, CA and his wife, Christine; grandchildren, Laura and Robin Kirschbaum, and Blair and Scott Urban; and a great granddaughter, Naomi Castro. He was deeply loved and will be missed for his dedication to his family, sense of humor and that twinkle in his eye. Per Leonard's request, there will be no service. He will have a United States Naval burial at sea. Please sign the guest book at www.dailybreeze.com/obits.
