Lloyd Oakley Miller, Jr., D.D.S

Lloyd was born on September 27, 1925 in Los Angeles, California and passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 15, 2012, at his home in Rolling Hills. Lloyd was one of three children born to Lloyd Sr. and Jane Miller. He is survived by his wife Mimi Hartwig Miller, sisters Betty Jane Graham and Barbara Williams, sons Lloyd Miller III and Stephen Miller, grandchildren Michelle Jimison and Lloyd Miller IV, plus great grandchildren Taylor, Kellen, Ryan, and Rylee. He was preceded in death by his parents Lloyd Sr. and Jane Miller, his first wife Norma, his middle son William, and his second wife Elizabeth Coffin Miller. Lloyd graduated from Fairfax High School, Los Angeles, class of 1943. He entered the Army Air Corps during World War II and became a pilot flying the B29 Bombers. Later he attended the University of Southern California and graduated with a degree in dentistry. Dr. Miller had a successful dental practice for 39 years in Redondo Beach. Lloyd loved all sports, including his passions for baseball, football and golf. He was a member of Palos Verdes Golf Club for 57 years. His many friends and relatives will remember Lloyd fondly for his caring and generosity and always willing to lend a helping hand for people in need. Private family services will be held at Green Hills Cemetery, Rancho Palos Verdes. Memorial service and celebration of Lloyd's life will be at Christ Episcopal Church, Redondo Beach on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 2:00 P.M.
