Lottie Christine Vick Obituary

Lottie Christine Vick

1927 - 2012

Lottie "Nannie" Vick passed away on May 10th with her family by her side in her Gardena home, where she lived for over 45 years. Born in Quitman, AK to Andrew and Mary Balentine, and the last of 9 children, on October 31, 1927. She attended Little Rock School for the Deaf, where she met the love of her life, Gordon Vick. They married in September 1946, had two daughters and moved to California in 1954. She worked for General Instruments as an electronic assembler for over 20 years. Also, she was a long time member of the Women's Deaf Club in Los Angeles, where they among many other things, volunteered their time helping at the elderly deaf home. She was also on the Committee for over 40 years with the South Bay Deaf Club. And even though she did not bowl, she went to all the league games with her husband for the South Bay Silent Bowlers, always having a good time visiting with the other wives. She loved puzzles, animals and cooking for her family where many great times and wonderful memories were made. Her sweet little "giggle" will be missed, she was greatly loved. Although, her familys comforted with knowing she is now with "Gordy" and they are once again "Nannie & PaPaw". She is survived by her two daughters, Janella Sullens and Viola (Tom) Pettigrew; grandchildren, John, Jeff (Teri) and Jason (Chelsea) Sullens, and Alana (Nino) Masellis; great grandchildren, Shalee (Travis) Loeffler, Ryan Jonnie, Josh, Stephanie and Saddie Sullens, Alicia and Kristy Masellis; great great granddaughter, Gabby Loeffler. Special note from daughters ~
To all the countless nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in Arkansas who dearly loved our mother and her very close friends in the deaf community, thank you for all your prayers and kindness, she truly loved you all. xoxo
