Born in Springtown, TX, to W.A. and Jennie Young (Robinson) on June 1, 1918. She was the last of seven children. After the death of her first husband, George Burns, she came to the Los Angeles area with her two young daughters in 1951. She moved to Gardena in 1956 until 1976 when she moved to Wilmington. She would meet a stranger that she liked and the next day she would deliver a fresh cake to them, usually walking to her destination. Her joy and passion for life was shared with all, usually with a joke. Lula valued her membership with the Carson Eagles and Torrance Elks 1948 and had many friends in both organizations.
