Lyle G. Johnson Obituary
In Loving Memory of
Lyle G. Johnson

Lyle was born September 8, 1925 in Dunlap, Iowa. Raised on a farm, Lyle graduated from high school at age 17 and joined the U.S. Navy at the height of WWII. The Navy sent him to aeronautical engineering school for the duration of the war. When he left the Navy he continued to study at another college where he met his wife of 61 years, Barbara L. Johnson. He spent nearly 40 years working in aerospace while raising two sons and a daughter. Geology was a passion of his, which he also studied. He loved big band music and played the guitar, the stand up bass, and the trombone. He was kind, decent, and generous. An affable man with a great sense of humor. Lyle was preceded in death by his wife Barbara in 2007 and his son Norman A. Johnson in April of this year. He is survived by his son Lyle D. Johnson, his daughter Kathryn L. Johnson, and his two grand-daughters Cheyann and Chrystal Johnson. He will be dearly missed. Please sign the guest book at www.dailybreeze.com/obits.
