Marguerite Ann Larson Obituary
Marguerite "Maggie" Ann Larson

Marguerite "Maggie" A. Larson of Valley Center, CA died Friday, August 26, 2016 at 89. Born April 11, 1927 to Ray and Louise Armstrong, she grew up with siblings Bob, Liz, Rosie and Aggie in Wilmington, CA. In 1947, she married the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Larson, a marriage lasting 62 years until his death in 2009.

Maggie and Bob raised their family in San Pedro in a much-loved home across from Averill Park, then retired to Valley Center in 1988. There they enjoyed their "mountain house", tending to their two-acre orchard, and taking road trips all over the country. In retirement, Maggie enjoyed many hobbies, favorites including gardening, sewing, quilting and growing her vast collection of Dept. 56 Christmas houses. Every Christmas season, their home became a holiday wonderland, with multiple themed trees, and extensive displays of Dept. 56 villages they built together, to the delight of their grandchildren. Maggie loved all holidays, but Christmas was her favorite!

She was a very capable person, with many skills. She partnered with Bob in his business, Larson's Body Shop in Wilmington. From 1975-1988, she worked at San Pedro Peninsula Hospital, where she was honored by the National Management Association, and retired as supervisor of the PBX Department.

Maggie is survived by her children, Bobbie (Jack) Weaver of Louisville, CO; Paula (Brad) Moore of Rancho Palos Verdes; Dan of Temecula; Chris of Rancho Bernardo; granddaughters, Katie and Lori Moore; Lisa Weaver LaPenna, Jessica Weaver; sister Rosie (Ray) Braiwick of Torrance; "third son" Jeremy; dear friends Susan, Bruce and their son Jamie Moore, her "honorary grandson."

Burial was private. Donations in her memory can be sent to: Cancer Support Community Redondo Beach, 109 W. Torrance Blvd, #100, Redondo Beach, CA 90277 or online at www.cancersupportredondobeach.org. Maggie bravely fought multiple myeloma for 10 years, but died peacefully, with family by her side, after a short battle with Lewy Body Dementia.
