After Marvin was shipped overseas to fight in the Burma Theatre, Marion returned to her hometown of Altus and worked as a techincal illustrator for Army aircraft at Douglas Aircraft Corp. After the war, they returned to Southern California, became parents in 1947, and subsequently raised 3 daughters. They settled in the South Bay area, moving to Torrance in 1953. Marion's husband was an active member of the Torrance Elks Lodge and Marion was active in the Ladies of the Elks. She also had a special talent and love for oil painting and began a career at home painting oil portraits and scenery for hire. She became a widow when Marvin passed in 1980 after 40 years of marriage. In 1995 she moved to Santa Barbara to live with her daughter and her family and continued to live there until her death. Marion is survived by her children: daughter and husband, Candy and Jim Meyer of Tigard, Oregon; daughter and husband, Janis and Terry Glover of Rolling Hills Estates, CA; daughter and husband, Kristin and Richard Carone of Santa Barbara, CA; her 8 grandchildren: Bryan Maille of Las Vegas, NV; Brent Maille of Torrance, CA; Tiffany Sawmiller of Beaverton, Oregon; Jason Meyer of San Pedro, CA; Cary Glover of Fullerton, CA; Robert Carone; Kevin Carone; and Marcus Carone, of Santa Barbara, CA; her 7 great-grandchildren: Marci Maille; Bradley Maille; Dakota Sawmiller; Jackson Sawmiller; Madison Maille; Brooke Maille; and Sophia Meyer; and her only sibling, her brother, T.W.
