Marvin Sidney Stone, 74, a Rancho Palos Verdes resident for 45 years and beloved husband, father and friend to many, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on the morning of September 11, 2014. "Marv" is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Ann, and their three devoted sons, Gary (Cyndee), Jeffrey (Kimi) and Jonathan. He leaves his sister Janet Goldberg, brothers-in-law Alan Pyenson, Brian Caplan, Ken Hoffman and David Snyder, sisters-in-law Karen Pyenson and Phyllis Snyder. Marv was born in Los Angeles on February 11, 1940. He earned a BS, MS and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from USC. In 1967 he joined TRW. In 1988 he was named VP and GM of TRW's Electronics and Technology Division. He was instrumental in developing sophisticated electronics technology that enabled a number of the nation's defense systems. After a successful 30 year career at TRW, Marv was an adjunct professor in the Viterbi School of Engineering, his beloved alma mater.
Marv was recognized for excellence throughout his career including:

• USC School of Engineering Alumnus Award
