Mary Glynn (Sullivan) Zuanich passed away peacefully in her sleep Saturday morning March 7th, 2015, at the grand age of 92 yrs. Mary was born in Brooklyn NY in 1922 to parents Edward F. and Ellen Sullivan. Her folks moved west when Mary Glynn was two years of age, where they set down roots in the burgeoning Port Town of San Pedro, California. Mary's father and uncle owned and operated the famous "Sullivan Bros Lockers" and Jewelry store on Harbor Blvd in San Pedro. Started in 1925, the family store was ruined in the San Pedro/Long Beach Earthquake of 1933. But, Mary's family remained fruitful and resilient. Mary Glynn grew up the eldest of six children. She attended Mary Star Elementary School from 1929 to 1936, and graduated from San Pedro High School in 1941. In 1942 Mary Glynn married her high school sweetheart Tony J. Zuanich, a love that lasted until 1999 when Tony passed. Together for 57 years they had five children, which grew into a wonderfully expanded crew of Z's. This includes: 17 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. Mary Glynn was preceded in end of life by both her parents, her husband Tony, her sister Margaret and Harry Aiken, her brother Edward Sullivan Jr., her in-laws, Frank and Mary Muljat, Jimmy and Minnie Ghio, and William (Billy) Gettman. Mary is survived by: her Sons, Skip (Alberta) Zuanich, Jay (Julie) Zuanich, Mike (Elizabeth) Zuanich, John Zuanich, and daughter: Glynn Zuanich-Peake, Sisters Catherine (Stan) Mandich, Joanne (Keith) Stafford, and Claire Gettman. In-laws: John and Lee Zuanich, and Mary Sullivan. Grand Children: Brigid, Tony, Vincent, Matthew, Jennifer, Matt, Brian, Shane, Alysse, Eddie, Jeffrey, Jereme, Jon, James, Jared, Shanna, and Jack. Plus 17 Great Grandchildren and many, many, nieces and nephews. Mary was also a proud member of Mary Star of the Sea Parish., Altar and Velike Gospe Societies, and The Holy Trinity's Better Half Club. The Zuanich Family, would like to thank all the fine in home care folks that worked with Mary Glynn during this time, We are especially thank full to Trinity Hospice Care for their exceptional compassionate care of our mother. Thank you all so much! A Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday, March 16, 2015, 10:30 a.m. at Mary Star of the Sea Church followed by interment at Green Hills Memorial Park.
