Michi Omura Dario Obituary
February 27, 1926 - June 12, 2011

Michi Omura Dario, a 57-year resident of Gardena, CA, passed away peacefully after a long illness on Sunday, June 12, 2011 at the age of 85. Born in Ooiso Ooaza Higashi-Tomochi Village Shimo-Masuki-gun Kumamoto Pref, Japan, Michi moved to California after falling in love and marrying a dashing Chief Petty Officer, U.S.N. Guillermo Sabastian Dario. Michi worked in various fields before finally settling at the Honeywell Corporation where she worked for about 23 years. At Honeywell, Michi made many dear and wonderful friends who kept in touch with until her death. Michi and her friends took many trips and had many adventures together; she and her friends enjoyed themselves greatly. She was adventurous, brave and maintained child-like amazement to all the wonders the world offered. Michi had a wonderful sense of humor and a very kind and loving heart. After her husband's early death, Michi raised two daughters by herself making sure they were always healthy and wanted for nothing -- she was a great mom. She supported her daughters through college, in marriage, and in life. Michi was a wonderful person, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend and her loss is greatly felt. Michi is survived by daughter, Amy Dario-Fayek and sister, Etsu. Michi was preceded in death by her husband, Guillermo Sabastian Dario, father, Manzou Omura, and mother, Takane Mori. A memorial service will be held at McMillan & McCormick Mortuary (1016 W 164th St, Gardena, CA 90247, (310) 792-7580) on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. with a reception immediately following in the Lighthouse Reception Room. Michi will be laid to rest with her beloved husband at the Los Angeles National Cemetery in Westwood at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Seicho-no-ie (Gardena, CA) for their help and comfort at this sad time. Please sign the guestbook for Michi at www.dailybreeze.com/obits. Please go to the mortuary's website, www.LAfuneral.com to send the family messages and to share memories.
