Obituary Condolences

Nancy Anne Froment

April 14, 1938 - July 17, 2013

Just before sunrise, our beautiful and caring Mother, loving Wife and dear Friend Nancy, passed away peacefully, in the reassuring company of her children and husband. Nancy was born just outside of Greenville, South Carolina to Mattie Kate Estes. In her early childhood years, Nancy was raised by her grandmother, Lydia Estes Doan. While in the third grade, her mother married William Broad and the family moved to Los Angeles California. Nancy graduated from Compton High School and found particular interest in business coursework. There she met Thomas (Tom) Carl Asper, whom she wed in 1957. Nancy and Tom had three children together. Amicably divorced after 20 years of marriage, Nancy then met Raymond (Ray) Froment. Nancy and Ray fell in love and were married in 1983 and recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. Nancy loved her garden, creating floral arrangements and spending time with her family and friends. Nancy's southern fried chicken and grilled tri-tip were legendary. Nancy was preceded in death by her mother, father and brother, Don Sprouse. She is survived by her two daughters, Brenda Brown (Asper) and Shelli Asper; her son, Cary Asper; stepsons, Ed Froment and Michael Froment; sister, Linda Carnes (Broad); husband, Raymond Froment; and four grand children. Nancy's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Torrance Memorial Medical Center Oncology and Hospice staffs for their unwavering care and support. A service to celebrate Nancy's life will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 26th at South Coast Botanic Garden in Rancho Palos Verdes. Please sign the guest book at amgamby.com.
