Died peacefully on November 2, 2015. Born in Kenosha, Wisconsin in 1931 to Nyal and Pearl Witham, Nancy was a gifted Marriage and Family Therapist and a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She leaves behind children Mark, Steve, Paul and Laura; daughters-in-law Aiko Shimada, Noel Collins, and Kathleen Robins; grandchildren Ariel, Sophia and Aidan Collins, Kate and Collin Robins, and Rumi Shimada; her twin sister Mary: and her brother in-law James Collins and his wife Dorothy. Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jon in 2012.
Nancy attended college at the University of Michigan, and earned a Master's degree at Azusa Pacific University. She and friends founded the Peninsula Counseling Center, where she practiced for the majority of her 35-year career. She was a devout Christian, a gifted singer, an ardent supporter of the arts, a world traveler, a wonderful listener and a good friend.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. Peter's-by-the-Sea at 6410 Palos Verdes Drive South, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, 90275 on Saturday, November 21, at 1:00 pm. Nancy will be interred in a plot shared with her husband at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes in a private burial.
