Nick Bubica Obituary
On Sunday, July 20, 2014, our beloved Nick passed away after succumbing to injuries suffered in a car accident caused by a heart attack. He was welcomed into Paradise by his loving Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ, and those who went before: Grandparents Ciro and Fausta Bubica and Nick and Tomica Strika. Also, his father-in-law Sam Piccione and brother-in-law Rick Piccione. We here are left to grieve a man who was loved by all who knew him, and who will be terribly missed. He was a loving and devoted husband to wife of almost 31 years Nancy (Piccione) Bubica. They were married on October 22, 1983 in San Pedro. Their marriage was a union of two people united in their faith in Jesus Christ, best friends and high school sweethearts. They loved to travel - Tahiti, Sicily, and Greece to name a few places. A trip to Croatia that Nick's parents took the whole family on, was an especially memorable time. They also loved small weekend getaways with just each other. Nick and Nancy truly was "one" word.

Nick was an awesome, loving, hands on dad to his son Jordan and daughter Airaby. He left them with many special and fond memories to cherish. He was a blessing to his parents Angelo and Geri Bubica , and to his sister Georgie. His sudden passing left them brokenhearted, as well as his mother-in-law Anita Piccione, and in laws who thought of Nick as a brother; Jim and Laurie(Piccione) Prizmich, Phil and Janet (Piccione) Klepper, Liz Piccione-Volger. Also many nephews and nieces who adored their fun loving Uncle, and as they grew older, admired his calm demeanor and strong faith. He leaves behind his Teta Perina and Uncle Guy Bubica, cousins including Michael and Darin Bubica, and Sonia (Branica) Kalman and Julie (Branica) Woodark. And many friends, who along with family members, are blessed to have their wonderful memories of Nick.

Nick was born on July 4th, 1960 in San Pedro and attended schools there. He graduated from San Pedro High in 1978, and went on to graduate from UCI with a BS in Computer Science. He had a long and satisfying career as a computer analyst with Verizon Wireless where he earned the respect and admiration of those he worked with. Nick's selfless side was displayed in his distributing skateboards to underprivileged children. He also advocated against Human trafficking, and supported Focus on the Family.

Our heart's are heavy , but we are at peace knowing Nick is meeting Jesus face to face. "Well done good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little, I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your Master" Matthew 25:21
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Christian Appalachian Project and/or stellas voice.org (fighting human trafficking) Private services will be held. Please sign the guestbook at www.dailybreeze.com/obits.
