87, born March 22, 1929, passed away Janurary 9th, 2017. He was born in Watts CA, beloved son to Santos and Belen Nunez, brother to Nicholas Nunez, Celina Martinez, and Rachel Macias; father to Ruben Octavio Nunez Sr. and wife Elsa Nunez; grandfather to Ruben Octavio Nunez Jr.(Tina), Renee Wojdag (Jason), and Amber Nunez; great grandfather to Colton, Bodie, and Reeve Wojdag, and Ruben Octavio Nunez III, with many niece's and nephews. Octavio was a lifelong resident of San Pedro CA. He was a member of ILWU Local 13 for 35 years driving tophandlers until he retired at the age of 80. Octavio's favorite pastime was spending time with family, and trips to Las Vegas. We love and miss you dad. Visitation will be at McMerney's Mortuary Thursday, January 19, 2017, from 1-7 pm followed by a rosary at 7 pm. A funeral mass will be held at St. Peters Church, 575 W O'Farrell St., San Pedro Friday, January 20, 2017 at 10 am, followed by graveside service at All Souls Cemetery, 4400 Cherry Ave., Long Beach.
