Peter L. Kimball Obituary
May 2, 1947 - August 30, 2011

Beloved husband and father, son and brother died in the loving arms of his family at home. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Jane Casserly Kimball of San Pedro; son, Scott Kimball (Mel) of Ladera Ranch; daughter, Annie of San Pedro; mother, Lynn, brother, Chris (Kris) and sister, Amy, all of Camarillo. Spent 4 great years at UC Santa Barbara where he made his lifelong friends, the "Roommates". Vice president of Human Resources in healthcare, most recently at Barlow Respiratory Hospital in Los Angeles, where he greatly valued his colleagues. Professionally known for his fairness, his knowledge of labor relations and his work ethic. An avid fisherman, fan of the New York Times crossword puzzles, worthy opponent in Trivial Pursuit and lifelong Los Angeles Dodgers fan. If you were his friend, you were in his "inner circle" for life. Profound gratitude to Johanna McCarthy, RN and Gary Graham, MD, skilled and compassionate hospice professionals. Peter died one and a half years after he retired. He wanted to remind people not to put off the enjoyment of life. A celebration of his life will be at the McNerney's Mortuary Chapel, 570 W. 5th St, San Pedro on Saturday, September 10 at 11:00 a.m. At his request, no flowers. Instead, Peter requested donations to Friends of the San Pedro Library, 931 S. Gaffey St., San Pedro, CA 90731. Please sign the guestbook for Peter at www.dailybreeze.com/obits. You are welcome to leave the family a message or share memories at www.mcnerneysmortuary.com.
