Phillip A. Maio, 78, of Torrance, California passed away after a long illness on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at home surrounded by his loved ones. Phillip was born on December 14, 1938 in Geneva, New York to Dominick and Angela Maio. Shortly after graduating from Geneva High School, Phillip took a trip to California with his good friends. He never looked back. He found much success in California and created a very full life for himself, owning his own cement business and retiring at age 51. Phillip cherished spending time with his loving life partner Marilyn and his dog Gizmo. Phillip is survived by his loving sisters, Betty Nepa and Sharon Maio of Ithaca, NY, his nephew Woody Nepa of Geneva, NY, his niece Alexandra Maio of Wildomar, California, nieces, Mena Nepa and Andrea Caraccilo of Ithaca, NY, several great nieces and nephews and his stepchildren Mike Nulty and Karen Cannan of Murrieta, CA, Cindy Wilde of Morgan Hill, CA and Sheri Buentjen of Wildomar, CA. He is preceded in death by his life partner, Marilyn Nulty and his sister, Judy Caraccilo. Phillip will be sadly missed by all who loved him.
