Pierre Droubay Obituary
Pierre Droubay

March 7, 1929 -
November 19, 2012

On Monday, Pierre peacefully passed away with his wife of 57 years, Lynne, by his side. In addition to Lynne, he is survived by his 3 children Marc, Leslie, and Tony and Debbie (wife), his grandchildren Kathleen and Matthew, and his sister Joane. Pierre's love for the ocean and beach kept him and his family in the South Bay Cities of Rancho Palos Verdes and Redondo Beach for most of his life. He was an avid athlete spending time body surfing, playing tennis, swimming, skiing and running. His drive to compete, took him to Boston, Hawaii, Palos Verdes and other marathons. Pierre was a Merchant Marine and in the United States Coast Guard for over 11 years. After graduating from Cal State Long Beach, undergraduate, and USC with an MBA Pierre had an illustrious career. He was President of Transicold in Los Angeles, Vice President of Ogden Corporation in Cleveland, Ohio, owned his own businesses, Tempo Enterprises and Lord Menu Company, worked as consultant with Cresap, McCormick and Paget, and worked as a counselor for 17 years with various counseling centers including San Pedro Peninsula Hospital, Thelma McMillian Recovery Center at Torrance Memorial, and House of Hope. He served as Founder/President of the Conches Club for the San Pedro Peninsula Hospital Foundation, President of the Jack Kramer Club, and President of Village Palos Verdes. What fulfilled Pierre the most was the last 23 years which were spent counseling and touching the lives of many through his passion for working his AA program and helping others find an alternative path for their life through AA. With all that he had accomplished in business and AA, he valued the family that he and his wife had built the most. He was truly proud of all of his children and his love and humor were shared and passed along. He will be missed by all, but will live in the hearts and thoughts of those who were fortunate enough to know and love him. A celebration of Pierre's life will be held at Palos Verdes Country Club, December 7th at 11:00 A.M. For more information, please contact Lynne at 310-378-4385. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the House of Hope, PO Box 921, San Pedro, CA 90731 or visit http://houseofhopesp.org/how-to-give.php.
