It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister at the age of 80 due to complications of brain cancer. It is a comfort to know she is now in heaven with her Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ and loved ones who have gone before. Joyce was born in Long Beach, California and moved to Torrance as a young school girl where she attended school and graduated from Torrance High School in 1948. She went on to attend El Camino College. Joyce was married in April 1957 to Carmine Inferrera. They had just celebrated 54 years of marriage. She leaves behind her husband, Carmine; two children, Tom and his wife, Georgia, Diana Demshki and her husband, Ken; grandchildren, Steven and Julie Demshki; and sister, Christine Goodwin. She was also "Auntie Joyce" to over a dozen nieces and nephews. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Ivy Franzen and her sister, Jean Rozum. Family always came first with Joyce and she was involved with her kids. She was a PTA president, den mother for Cub Scouts, attended Indian Maidens with her daughter and volunteered her time for the local Little League and . Joyce enjoyed many trips with her extended family and particularly enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren. After her children were grown she worked for El Camino College and Northrop Aircraft. In retirement, Joyce enjoyed golf and working puzzles. Joyce made a new circle of friends by joining a senior ladies golf league. Friends were always a big part of Joyce's life. She made point to keep in touch with friends she had for over 50 years. Joyce was also an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking big Italian dinners for the family. A memorial service is planned for May 26, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Green Hills Memorial Park.
