Ray Berry, 84, long time resident of South Redondo and Rolling Hills Estates passed away in his home on August 26th. He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Helena Berry from London, England; his twin brother, Ronald; his son, Jonny and his faithful dog, Derby. Ray leaves his loving wife, Glenda of 23 years; his children, Michael (Dina), Heather, Brennan (Karen); seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was born in Los Angeles, November 30, 1928. Ray and Ronald grew up on Catalina Ave. in Redondo Beach with their fun-loving circle of friends and devoted parents. They graduated from Redondo Beach Union High School in 1948. Ray served in the Army from 1950-53, supervising a prisoner of war camp in Korea in 1952. He graduated from El Camino in 1955 and from USC in 1957. He went to work in the liquor industry with William George/Youngs Market from 1958-1981, where he was a top salesman. Semi-retired, he pursued a few ventures as an entrepreneur, returning to work in 1994 with Dannon Corp. He worked until he was 80 years old. Ray's favorite pastime was horse racing "the Sport of Kings." He was interested in everything, and would say "if you're bored then you must be boring". He loved and enjoyed his family and his dog. Ray Berry was a man of intellect and integrity, strength and class, ideas and humor. A man well loved, a life well lived.
