Richmond (Ric) Charles Meyer passed away in his sleep in his home in San Pedro on February 25, 2017.

Ric was devoted to Teresa, his wife of 41 years. She was the love of his life and he always did his best to take care of her.

Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Ric lived in Michigan and Indiana where he met Teresa before moving to California for most of his adult life. He worked in the sporting goods industry, was a writer & editor, developed web pages and also played excellent blues guitar. Ric always loved music, fishing and politics and followed current events closely. In recent months, he regularly watched the evening news with his mother.

Ric made friends wherever he went. He was articulate and loved a good conversation and was known for his sense of humor, his generosity and kindness.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa; his mother, Eleanor Seidl; sisters, Mary Meyer, Rosie King (Jack), Annie Meyer (Sue Dodge), Susan Jordan (Lee Prlia), Jeannette Melcic (Mike), Eileen Meyer; brother, Ed Meyer (Gayle); and sister in law, Sherry Fielding. He also leaves several nieces and nephews, Jennifer McAfee (Chris Cannon), Tony Jordan (Davida), Daniel Healy, Michael Melcic, Megan Melcic, Christy Woodbury, Michael McCracken, Elijah Carter, and Annalynn Carter; grandnephews, William Jordan and Kobi McCracken; and a grandniece, Emilia Jordan.
