1931 - 2011 Obituary Condolences
Richard "Dick" Craig passed away suddenly at his home in San Pedro, CA on July 22. A resident of San Pedro for more than 30 years, Dick lived a long life full of love for his wife, his family, golf and the USC Trojans. Dick was born in Los Angeles on April 26, 1931, the eldest of five children - which included Jack Craig, Marion Stevens, Patricia Phillips and Robert Craig. Dick attended University of Southern California School of Pharmacy, graduating in 1953. Following college, Dick served in the U.S. Army's Medical Field Service School as an operating room specialist. Dick spent 41 years as a pharmacist and owner of Craig-Boggs Pharmacy in Lawndale. He also spent more than 20 years in the press box for the Los Angeles Rams, as a statistics reporter. Additionally, he was a pharmacist consultant at Standard Homeopathic Company (Hyland's). He was heavily involved in the Los Verdes Men's Club (Palos Verdes), South Bay Pharmacists Association, Elks Lodge (San Pedro) and USC Alumni Association. Dick is survived by his wife of 33 loving years, Anna Mae Craig, with whom he traveled all over the world and shared many summers at their cabin in Dolores, CO; his children - Diana De Marti, Tim Craig, Bill Craig, Tom Hughes, Jerry Hughes and Lance Hughes; his grandchildren - Camella Lobo-Mendez, Jennifer Lobo-Simpson, Cynthia Craig, Daniel Craig, Eddie Craig and Quinn Hughes; his great-grandchildren - Parker, Charlotte and E. Richard Simpson; his dog, Ginger and cat, Mr. Bojangles. Services are Thursday, July 28 at 1:00 p.m. at Green Hills Memorial Park. A reception will follow.
