Richard Jordan, 89 years old, formerly from Palos Verdes Estates, Idyllwild and Santa Barbara, peacefully passed away August 5, 2011. Born in Los Angeles on March 10, 1922, Richard met his lifetime sweetheart, Marjorie at McGill University and they married May 23, 1944. They lived most of their lives in Southern California, moving to Santa Barbara in 2003 to be close to their children and grandchildren. Lt. Richard Jordan was a WW II torpedo bomber pilot attached to VT-7 aboard the U.S.S. Hancock (CV-19) in 1945. He received the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Metal, Gold Star and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon. Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Marjorie; his three children, Richard Jordan of Los Osos, Merilee Conley of Los Olivos, Sandee Beckers of Santa Barbara; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
