Richard Neil "Ike" Iacono Obituary
A lifelong resident of San Pedro, Richard passed away at home surrounded by family and friends on November 4, 2010. Richard passed away after a 5 1/2 year battle with cancer. In his own words on Monday, November 1, 2010, "I fought hard". He was born in San Pedro on December 14, 1940. Richard retired proudly from Raytheon. His career path also included Lou & Ike's TV Service, Canon, Magnavox, and Hughes Aircraft. Richard graduated from Mary Star of the Sea High School, class of 1958. He earned his B.S., Business Administration Degree from California Coast University. Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Beverly Heisterman Iacono; son, Joseph (Christine) Iacono; daughters, Danielle Poli and Gina (Hormoz) Kianfar; his grandchildren, Kolby and Ethan Iacono, Brendan and Sarah Poli, and Hudson Ike Kianfar; sister, Christine (Richard) Maier; sister-in-law, Virginia (Jack) Mardesich; nephews, Steve (Gloria) Maier and Denis (Susan) Mardesich; niece, Juliane (Tim) Podue; his loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother and father Giuseppe and Concetta (Pugliese) Iacono. He enjoyed watching sporting events - he was a UCLA Bruin, Lakers, and Dodgers fan until the end! He loved being with his family, traveling with his wife and dear friends, and playing on the golf course. He will be remembered for his courage, strength, kind heart, quick wit, sense of humor, and loyalty.
