Robena Layne (Bobbie) Lister

On Friday, December 21, 2012, Robena passed away quietly at home. Bobbie was 78 years old. She was born May 14, 1934 in Foreman, Arkansas to her parents Jase and Lois Glenn. She moved to San Pedro when she was 7 and lived most of her life there. She attended Barton Hill Elementary School, Dana Junior High, and graduated from San Pedro High School. She worked as a noon-aide and bookroom clerk at Dana Junior High and as a receptionist and billing clerk at Little Sisters' of the Poor. Bobbie was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Robert Lister. She is survived by her children and their spouses; Beth (Bob) Castagnola, Jim (Marian) Lister, Kathy (Fred) Lister-Davis, Jerry (Gina) Lister, and her eight grandchildren; Michael (Annie) Castagnola, Nicole (Joe) Wells, Jason Haddix, Lindsey Lister, David Cunningham, Max Lister, Hattie and Younger Davis. She is also survived by her sister Edna Gonzalez. Bobbie enjoyed reading, gardening (especially pruning her roses), playing cards, and going on trips with her friends. She loved her children and her world was always brighter when her grandchildren were near. Services for Bobbie will be held on Saturday, December 29th, 10:00 a.m. at McNerney's Mortuary, 570 West Fifth Street, San Pedro.
