February 20, 1927 – April 6, 2013

Bob was born in Havre, Montana. At the age of 16 he joined the U.S. Coast Guard, serving his country during World War II. After the war he settled in North Dakota to work for Great Northern Railroad, where he met and married Loraine Margaret Kittleson, his wife of 67 years. In 1955, he joined the U.S. Border Patrol. In 1970, he transferred to the Immigration and Naturalization Service where he served until retiring in 1981. He finished his career as an Immigration Investigator working to stop the exploitation and smuggling of people across the border. He loved golf, photography, and was active in his local American Legion Post #812, serving in different capacities including Post Commander. He is survived by his wife, Loraine; five children, Ramona, Marion, Steven, Gerald and Terry; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son, Robert. He will be missed by his family and numerous friends. A Memorial Service will be held at the Lomita VFW Hall Post 1622, on May 1st at 2:00 p.m. His interment, with military honors, will be at the Riverside National Cemetery on May 2nd at noon.
