Robert (Bob) E. Ciriello

Robert (Bob) E Ciriello, 89, passed away after a brief illness. Born in Boston, he served in WWII for which he was awarded two Purple Heart medals. Bob taught in Long Beach and in Greece as a Fulbright Scholar. Bob was active in the ACLU, SP Neighbors for Peace and Justice, PV Democratic Club, SP Library Volunteers for shut-ins, and other groups. His interests included current events, opera, his garden, and his dogs. Bob especially enjoyed the company of his grandchildren, Sonia and Henry Norton. Bob is survived by his daughter, Helen Ciriello Norton, his grandchildren, Sonia Norton and Henry Norton, and his beloved dog Biscuit, of Rancho Palos Verdes. Also surviving are family in Massachusetts. A service celebrating Bob's life will be held July 21, 10 am, at South Coast Botanical Garden.
