Robert Frank Karbach Obituary
Bob Karbach passed away peacefully at home on January 6, 2012. He was born on September 15, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois where he spent his early years, then later moved with his family to Gardena, CA. He graduated from Gardena High School, Pepperdine College and UCLA. He was an outstanding college basketball player. Bob returned to Gardena High School where he taught physical education, biology and health, as well as coached basketball and gymnastics for 33 years. Bob enjoyed outdoor sports, especially basketball, boating, fishing, camping and spending time with his family and friends. He always owned a boat. He enjoyed rebuilding cars, and was a true handy man as he could fix almost anything. He enjoyed traveling throughout the world. Bob will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was an inspiration to many. Bob was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Marie Karbach and his sister, Laverne Gunzel. Bob leaves behind his wife, Suzanne Karbach; son, Kraig Karbach; daughters, Lori Hughes and Kristi Krafft; his first wife, Dawn Morrell; stepsons, Eric, Gordon and Brian Eliel and 12 grandchildren. A memorial service at sea will be held in Redondo Beach aboard the "Body Glove" boat on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at noon. Please sign the guestbook at www.dailybreeze.com/obits.
