Robert H. "Bob" Belliveau Obituary

The last alarm sounded for retired Battalion Chief, Robert H. ""Bob"" Belliveau, 75, of Lake Havasu City, AZ on February 25, 2017.
Bob was born on January 1, 1942 in Chicago, IL to Edward and Lula Belliveau. In 1959, he enlisted in the USMC where he proudly served for four years. In 1964, he began his career with the Los Angeles County Fire Department. He was a Firefighter, Paramedic, Captain, and Battalion Chief. He was proud to have been a part of the first class of Paramedics for LACoFD. He held the designation of Paramedic #0001. Along with five fellow firefighters, they set the standard for the Paramedic Program we see today. In addition to his illustrious career, Bob enjoyed working as a Technical Adviser on the TV show Emergency. He retired on January 5, 1998 as a Battalion Chief.
Bob and Kathy were married on April 17, 1971 in Torrance, CA. They lived in Torrance for 30 years before retiring to Lake Havasu City, AZ in December 2000.
What truly defined Bob was his ability to listen, being nonjudgmental, and his compassion and generosity towards all. He loved his family unconditionally and his grandchildren were the true highlights of his life during his retirement years.
Bob is survived by his wife, Kathy of 45 years; his children Michelle, Marc (Gena), Brian, Kevin (Chrissa); his six grandchildren Grant, Houston, Haus, Walker, Brooklyn, and Zeke; and his sisters Alice (Wally) and Kate (Tom). He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Lula; and his brother Edward.
A flag ceremony will be held on Saturday, March 25 at LACoFD Fire Station 36 in Carson, California at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Hospice of Havasu Polidori House in Bob's name.
