Obituary Condolences

July 30, 1945 - June 10, 2012

Beloved Father, Brother, Uncle, Grandfather, Friend
and Former Husband

Robert "Bob" passed away on Sunday, June 10 at the age of 66 after a courageous 3 year battle with emphysema. He is survived by sisters, Patty (Wayne), Wanda (Dick); children, Robert (Shannon Watkins), Shannon and Brian; many nieces and nephews; step children, Steve (Teresa), Joseph and former wife, Teri (Calderon). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Tyler, Shayna, Brycen and Zachary, whom he loved with all his heart. Bob was employed with Aeon Mfg. for 41 years and played an enormous role in its evolution, faithfully working side by side with Aeon owner, Jim McCampbell to help make Aeon the successful business it is today. Jim was not only his boss, but a valued and respected friend. Aeon and its many dedicated staff members were considered extended family and remained in contact with him after his retirement on January 1, 2009. Upon retirement Bob was honored for his service and dedication to Aeon with a commemorative plaque placed prominently on the face of the building where his career began. Bob was a member of the So. Cal. Horseshoe Pitchers Assoc for over 25 years and enjoyed spending his spare time with his closest friends, participating in weekend tournaments spanning So. Cal. And when his illness would no longer allow him to play, he continued to attend the tournaments to support his friends and fellow members. Bob will forever be remembered for his kindness and ability to befriend anyone. Many were fortunate to have known him and to call him "friend". His family has requested to have Bob's remains returned to his home state of Oregon for private services and burial. Locally, an informal "Life Celebration" has been scheduled for Bob on Sunday, July 1 at Utros Crest Cafe, located in Ports of Call Village in San Pedro, CA. Time to be announced by return email when attendance has been determined. Everyone is encouraged to bring photos, memories, etc., to share and/or exchange. Kindly confirm your desire to attend by emailing Teri, not later than June 23 at: [email protected]. Please sign the guest book at www.dailybreeze.com/obits. You were truly loved by so many. Rest in peace my love.
