Robert L. (Bob) Stottlemire

Robert L. (Bob) Stottlemire, 78, passed away on October 26, 2016 from Dementia in Harbor City, CA. He was born June 12, 1938 in Graham, Missouri preceded in death by his parents, Burl and Addie Stottlemire; brothers, Leon, Sam, Morris, and Burl. He is survived by siblings, Dorothy, Gladys, Bonnie, Clara, Ted, Charles, and Butch. He was a proud veteran of the Viet Nam War who served in the Navy for 24 years. He was a resident of Carson for 38 years. He was a life member of the VFW Post 1622, Lomita, CA and a member of the Fleet Reserve Association Branch 302, Carson, CA. He was also a member of NARFE Chapter 21 for several years and the Carson Senior Center VIP, TLC and Friendship clubs. He worked at Southwest Marine Shipyard as a rigger foreman for many years then Laidlaw Transit as a bus driver/trainer. Bob is survived by his wife, Barbara "Bobbie" Iacono (a Pedro girl); they were married for 59 happy years. They had one daughter, Cathy "Cricket", her husband, Shawn and granddaughter Ella Stone. Ella was the light and love of her papa's life. We would like to thank the Torrance Wellbrook Memory Care unit for their care and support, South Bay Kaiser hospital 4200 nursing staff. Rosary and Mass will be held Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 11 AM at St. Barnabas Catholic Church, 3955 Orange Ave. Long Beach, CA. Reception to follow at VFW, 1865 W. Lomita Blvd. Lomita, CA. Burial will take place with full military honors on November 30th at 11 AM at the Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside, CA.
