Ronald Globes Obituary
Ronald James Globes, 74

It is with heavy hearts that we announce that our beloved father, Ronald James Globes, age 74, passed away on February 7, 2015 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Ronald was born in Muscatine, Iowa on July 13, 1940 to Frank and Helen Globes. When he was 17, he moved with his family to California where he remained and spent his time enjoying his life and building a home for his family.

An extremely dedicated man to both his family and his job, he worked for Pacific Bell for 33 years and only once called in sick, the day his first daughter was born. Ronald was an exceptionally intelligent man as well, with a witty and playful sense of humor that was prevalent throughout his entire life. His love of animals and his giving nature were among his many superb attributes, but he was also a brave and determined survivor. Ronald had cancer four times. He was first diagnosed with an extremely rare type of bone cancer in 1998 that eventually took his arm but not his spirit. That cancer, years later, went to his lungs, not once but twice, and he came through two major surgeries with grace and dignity both times. Then in March of 2014 he was diagnosed with leukemia and again he fought an incredible fight, but it was this final bout with cancer that took him from us.

Ronald is survived by his daughter Laurie and son in law Randall Morgan of Wilmington, daughter Lynette Globes and selected son Adam Grodin of Lomita, as well as his much loved dogs Riot and Noodle. He was preceded in death by his wife Dixie Globes in 2011.

A memorial service will be held at Green Hills Memorial Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 11:00am. Please sign the guestbook at greenhillsmortuary.com or dailybreeze.com.
