Rowe Prideaux Obituary
Rowe Prideaux

January 1, 1923 – January 5, 2016

Rowe Henry Prideaux of Palos Verdes, CA, passed away at the age of 93 from complications to age related illnesses. Born to Father Leslie "Lyle" and Mother Josephine, in Adrian, Minnesota, where he was raised. Upon discharge from the Army in 1945 he went to work for United Air Lines. He was a dedicated company man and during his thirty-eight-year career he and family were transferred several times before settling in the South Bay in 1961.
After retirement Rowe volunteered at the South Coast Botanic Gardens where he was honored as Volunteer of the Year in 1988. He was an avid gardener and also tried his hand at woodworking. However, Rowe realized that his true avocation was attempting to break par at Los Verdes Golf Course where he and his pals were regulars twice a week for many years. Rowe also enjoyed traveling and along with wife Pat was an enthusiastic supporter of the Norris Theater. Blessed with a phenomenal memory for detail, he loved telling lengthy stories of historically accurate trivia to anyone who dared to make eye contact with him.
Rowe was preceded in death by his first wife Shirley, brother William, and sisters Janet O'Brien and Isabel Hogan. He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years Pat, daughter Peggy, son Lyle (wife Jacke'), stepson Christopher Rice (wife Kiki), grandchildren Matthew Prideaux and Cheryl Prideaux.
Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Rowe's favorite charity, the Veterans of Foreign Wars via their website, or to any other military assistance charity. Please sign the guestbook at www.dailybreeze.com/obits.
