July 23, 1920 - February 10, 2011

Beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away in Torrance, Ca while in Hospice care. He was long time resident of Torrance, CA having lived in the city since 1959. He was born in Bottineau, ND and raised in the rural farming community of Carbury, ND. He was the second of eight siblings born to Benjamin and Alma (Seter) Wall. He grew up and worked on the farm during the Great Depression Years of the 1930's. After high school, he attended the Forestry School in Bottineau for two years. He then went to Baltimore, Maryland to work in the shipyards until he entered the US Army in WWII. He was discharged in 1945 and in 1946 he married his loving wife, June with whom he celebrated 64 years of marriage. Russell was employed by Fairmont Creameries' in Devils Lake, ND until 1956 when he moved the family to California. He was employed by Allied Signal Aerospace from 1956 until his retirement in 1982. He enjoyed retirement life, including ocean cruises, trips to Europe, Hawaii, North Dakota, Dodger games, and his true love, golf with his friends at Alondra Park Golf Course. Russell is survived by his wife, June; brothers, Howard (Frances), John (Joan), and Kenny; sisters, Ione, Doris, and Lorraine; sister-in-law, Frances; son, Douglas (Maurita); daughter, Karen; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren, and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. Visitation will be held at Holy Cross Mortuary/Cemetery in Culver City, CA on Wednesday, February 16 at 3pm-8pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, February 17th at 9am in the Holy Cross Mortuary Chapel with burial following the Mass.
