Joseph Schenasi, 88

Joseph was a long time resident of the South Bay. He passed away peacefully on the morning of April 25, 2017. Joe was born in Los Angeles, the son of Turkish immigrants who came to the United States in the early 1900's. Joe was proud of his Turkish roots and Sephardic heritage. He served in the Navy and was stationed in Guam, later to be honorably discharged on June 10, 1948. Joe started his career working at Ted Richards Furniture in Los Angeles, and eventually opened his own store in Redondo Beach, and later in Torrance. Joe was a lifelong USC fan, an avid golfer and a friend to everyone he met on and off the course. He is survived by his beloved wife, the love of his life, Patricia Schenasi; his son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Carol Schenasi; his daughter, Jan Schenasi; his son and daughter-in-law, Marc and Laura Schenasi; and his six grandchildren, David Schenasi, Denise Schenasi, Madeline Schenasi, Eric Schenasi, Haley Schenasi and Todd Schenasi, all of whom will miss him dearly. Graveside services will be held on Friday, April 28, 2017, at 10 a.m. at Hillside Memorial Park, 6001 W. Centinela Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90045.
