Shirley Bayley Obituary
Shirley Frances Bayley

Shirley Frances Bayley, 89, passed peacefully in her home, on Saturday, February 4, 2017 in Lake San Marcos, California. She is now in the presence of her savior Jesus Christ, as well as many family and friends.

Shirley was a resident of Manhattan Beach, California for over 50 years, where her passion in life was being a devoted and loyal wife and mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, as well as home-maker and owner of a well-respected cleaning business. She was a long-term member of Hope Chapel in Hermosa Beach, and later at her new church home, Journey of Faith, where she enjoyed worshiping and being with friends. She also enjoyed hosting a bible study in her home for many years. In her children, she encouraged a love of music, the ocean, sports, fishing, reading, education, and the outdoors in general, specifically the area surrounding "Tom's Place" in the Sierras.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Hank in 1980, and never re-married. She was also preceded in death by her mother Gladys Graham, father Milton Van Nattan, brother Milton Van Nattan, sister Marge Reniff, and son Mark. She is survived by her children Will, Jack, Sue, Dave, Mary, Chris, and Andy, as well as her sister Dorothy, 12 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.

Shirley's primary love was for her husband, her Lord, and her children and their families, whom she loved and served until her final days. She also had a love of nature, gardening, cooking and baking, collecting antiques and artifacts, bible study and prayer, and long "heavenly" rides on her strand cruiser, along the bike path in Manhattan and Hermosa Beach.

Services will be held at Journey of Faith, 1243 Artesia Blvd., Manhattan Beach CA 90266 on Friday February 17 at 11am, with burial at Holy Cross in Culver City at 2pm.
