Shirley Whitman Browne Obituary
Shirley Whitman Browne
December 20, 1926 – March 25, 2017

Shirley Whitman Browne, 90, of Redondo Beach passed away on March 25, 2017. She was at home with loved ones at her side.
Shirley was born in Appleton, Wisconsin in 1926 to Elmer & Dorothy Schneider. She lived and raised her family there before coming to California in 1970. She worked for many years in advertising for the Daily Breeze newspaper. She was an active and devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she accepted many callings including temple missions both in Washington D.C. and the Los Angeles Temple. She felt truly rewarded and enriched by that service.
Shirley was a soft spoken and caring person and was always generous with her time and talent. She was a strong and independent woman who strived to live life according to her faith. She was a wonderful mother to her family and her life will always be an example and an inspiration to all of us.
Shirley is survived by her four children, Teru (John) Rexroad, Tina (Clifford) Tierney, James Whitman, John (Mary) Whitman, her sister Marianne Schneider, her brother Robert (Twyila) Schneider, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren, all of whom dearly loved and admired her. She was preceded in death by her brothers Gerald and Elmer E Schneider.
Shirley was so loved and will be missed by all. She will be in our hearts forever. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 13, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 715 Knob Hill, Redondo Beach, CA 90277. Please sign the guest book www.dailybreeze.com/obits.
