Stanley George Moore Obituary
Stanley George Moore, formerly a 44-year resident of Rancho Palos Verdes, passed away on August 24, 2010 at his home in Bullhead City, Arizona after a brief struggle with cancer. Born June 1, 1926 in Los Angeles, CA, he was 84 years old. Stan served his country in the Navy during World War II, then built a career in automotive paint and supplies with Thompson Lacquer Company. He retired in 1989 as Vice President and part-owner, having significantly built what is now a nationwide company. He took a special interest in helping to develop careers within the industry, as evident by the hundreds of successful individuals who benefited from his guidance. An astute real estate investor, Stan continued to invest right up until the time of his death. Stan was a devoted and loving husband of 56 years to wife, Dottie. He is also survived by his two children, Brad (Paula) Moore and Carole (Boyd) Ellestad, of Rancho Palos Verdes; and, two granddaughters, Katie Moore (Olympia, WA) and Lori Moore (Los Angeles). He will be greatly missed too by the "granddogs" he so enjoyed, Jake, Molly, Barney and Lexy. Those who knew him would agree Stan was "one of a kind" and lived his life exactly as he wished. His death is a profound loss and he will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: Pediatric Therapy Network, 1815 W. 213th St., Suite 100, Torrance, CA 90501; or, Los Angeles Biomedical Research Institute (Attn: Office of Institutional Advancement), 1124 W. Carson Street, Torrance, CA 90502. Burial will be private. A celebration of Stan's life will be held in Rancho Palos Verdes. Please sign the guest book at www.dailybreeze.com/obits.
