Obituary Condolences

Age 85 of Lomita, passed away on August 25, 2011. He was born in Plymouth, Massachusetts on October 6, 1925 to Catharine and James Bogardus Sr. Father Kimo has been a resident of Lomita since 1974. He attended the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned his BS degree, and The Church Divinity School, where he earned his MDIV. Father Kimo was an Episcopal Priest serving in Ministry for 52 years. During this time he was also worker-Priest for American Airlines and was founder of the American Airlines Vanguards Retiree Organization. He served in churches in several states and was also a member of the Religious Order of the Holy Cross. He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy, aboard the aircraft carrier USS Shangri La. Father Kimo will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends. In lieu of flowers, suggested donations be made to St. Gregory's Episcopal Church (address below) or to a charity of your choice.
