Thelma A. Lauro

Passed away May 13, 2015. Thelma was born in San Pedro, California on October 3, 1931 to Jeannette Thelma Kaloper and Anthony Gradis. She attended Mary Star of the Sea and St. Anthony's High School in Long Beach.
In 1949, she met Tony Gino Lauro who watched her play accordion at a benefit concert as a member of the Accordianas musical trio. She married Tony in 1955 and they had three children.
She attended Immaculate Heart College in Los Angeles, graduating with honors & a degree in English. Her career as a dedicated educator spanned thirty-five years, redominantly at Dapplegray Intermediate School. In 1985 she received her Masters Degree in Education earning all A's.
She will be greatly missed by her husband of sixty years, Tony G. Lauro; her sister, Joanne Gradis; children Jeannette (Lauro) and her husband Bob Papadakis; Rosanne Lauro, Tony J. Lauro and his wife Angie; grandchildren Lucas and Nicholas Papadakis, Katie and Joey Lauro and the many nephews, nieces, grandnieces, grandnephews, great grandnieces, and great grandnephews.
Funeral mass will be held at 10 AM on Friday, May 29 at Holy Trinity Church followed by interment at Green Hills Memorial Park.
