Thomas Dale Ladner Obituary
Born January 2, 1946 in Eureka, South Dakota, Tom passed away peacefully at home after a long battle with COPD on July 8, 2011. Tom was a 41-year resident of Torrance where he and the love of his life, Susan Kay, raised their family. A pioneer in the computer industry, Tom worked as a senior engineering specialist for Aerospace Corporation for almost 40 years. He is survived by his children, Tammy Dylla (husband, Dave, grandchildren Matt, Jake, Sam and Rachel), Robert Ladner (wife, Shilo, granddaughter, Emily) and Scott Ladner (wife, Jennifer, grandsons, Jason and Dylan). Tom leaves a rich legacy of caring and providing for his family. He helped us when we needed it most and made sure that we all had a place to turn to when we thought there was no where to go. He was a truly devoted husband and father who was willing to share in our sad times, but always reminded us that there were better days ahead. He was quick to share a smile or a story. He only offered advice when he was asked and truly respected people's privacy and their right to own their personal mistakes and triumphs. Said simply, Tom was a great man and there are not enough of his kind in the world today. We are proud to have known him, sad to see him go, and comforted that his suffering has ended and that he is truly at peace in the loving arms of his wife and our Savior. We will miss him dearly and thank God for giving him enough time to see the Packers win the Superbowl but not too much time struggling with his challenges. A celebration of Tom's life will be held at his home on July 16 from 12pm-4pm. Please sign the guestbook for Tom at www.dailybreeze.com/obits.
