Obituary Condolences

Thomas "Tom" Edward Mountjoy

Tom was born in San Pedro on April 23, 1953, and spent most of his life in Wilmington and San Pedro. He was a graduate of Banning High, and was in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany for three years. For the past eleven years Tom was a sober living house manager for Fred Brown Recovery Service in San Pedro, where he touched the lives of so many dealing with addictions. He loved being able to help them, and the rewards he received kept him strong in his faith. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed a good ride with friends. Tom's previous addictions saw no mercy, and he was taken away from us on May 22, 2014. He is survived by his mother and step-father, Ginny and Willy Skipper, son Chris Mountjoy, step-brothers, John and Tim Skipper and their families. He will be missed by all who knew him. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2014 at Skyline Mobile Park Clubhouse, 2550 Pacific Coast Highway, Torrance, California from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation to the Liver Foundation, or to any foundation or group whose objection is to help those find and keep their recovery.
