Thomas Warren Harrigan

Thomas Warren Harrigan, 90, died June 3, 2013. Born August 26, 1922, Los Angeles. Grew up in Alhambra, graduating from Alhambra High and PCC. A WWII Vet, stationed in the Philippines, he retired as a bank executive after 42 years with Crocker Bank. Resident of the So. Bay for 54 years before moving to Chino Hills. He met Jean, his wife of 61 years, at a Catholic Young People's Club. Avid travelers, especially in Canada and the U.S., they visited all 50 states, driving to 49 of them. A native Californian, Tom swam Balboa Channel often as teenager, body surfed local beaches and hiked Half Dome. He had a lifelong love of Yosemite and the Pacific coast. A voracious reader, other hobbies included map and coin collecting and golf. Thomas is preceded in death by his wife, Jean and son, Dan. He's survived by daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Patrick Hamamoto; grandsons, Sean Harrigan, Matthew and Ryan Hamamoto; brother, Richard and sister, Patricia. A rosary will be 6:30 P.M. Thursday, June 13, 2013 at St Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 14085 Peyton Drive, Chino Hills. Funeral Mass will be Friday, June 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Pomona. Contributions can be made in Memory of Thomas W. Harrigan to Disabled American Vets (DAV.org) or YosemiteConservancy.org.
