Thomas Woodrow Nauman remembered:

On May 24, 2013, Thomas Nauman, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and teacher passed away at the age of 69. Thomas was born on May 31, 1943 in Mound City, MO. His family moved to the South Bay around 1950. He was the oldest of three children. Thomas attended Redondo Union High School and went on to graduate from El Camino College and later, California State University at Long Beach with a B.A. and a M.A. in English Literature. He began his teaching career at South Torrance High School and West Torrance High School. Subsequently, at Locke High School in Los Angeles, he chaired the English Department, managed state mandated testing of students there and taught Advanced Placement English. A very dedicated teacher, he often wrote letters of recommendation for students applying to universities and volunteered to tutor in the school library every Saturday morning. After retirement, Thomas relocated to Arrowbear, CA. He is survived by his wife, Jill; his son, Todd Nauman; his daughter, Jana Nauman; his grandson, Ryan Tate; his step-daughter, Lorien Hatch; and his two sisters, Barbara Sutliffe and Theresa Schneider. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 7th at 2 p.m. at the Pacific Crest Cemetery, 2701 182nd Street, Redondo Beach, CA. Please sign the guest book at www.dailybreeze.com/obits.
