Obituary Condolences

Uta Knorr Sharma
Uta Knorr Sharma of Redondo Beach, CA passed away peacefully on January 22. Uta was born in L#252;bben, Germany on January 6, 1942 and spent her early years in the midst of WWII. She developed her strong spirit and heart at a young age, moving throughout Germany during the war and surviving childhood illness just following the war. After earning an Engineering degree at 20, Uta courageously immigrated to the US. While working at an engineering firm in Chicago, Uta met her late husband, Madan Sharma, originally of India, a land and culture Uta embraced. Soon after, they moved to Southern California where they raised their children, Krishan and Janeen, with love and encouragement. Uta will be remembered for her grace and sophistication, her intellectual curiosity that she shared with her children, and the loving nature she shared with her friends and family. Her patient and kind way with children led her to work as a beloved teacher's aide for a decade, she also passionately taught knitting for 30 years and created beautiful textiles of her own. Despite the miles, Uta kept close with her family in Germany. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents, Kurt and Charlotte Knorr, and survived by her children, as well as her sister, Sylvia Landgraf of Munich, her brother, Harald Knorr of Frankfurt, and many nieces and nephews. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the San Pedro Peninsula Cancer Guild, c/o Mrs. R. Trujillo, 7Wagon Lane, Rolling Hills Estates, CA 90274. Private family services were held.
