Virginia was born to Ann and Albert Thackrah in Philadelphia, PA. She was the fourth of eight children born to Ann. She went to school in Philadelphia, she graduated from Germantown High.

She also leaves many grandchildren and great grandchildren behind. Theodore was a Mason, and also served in the military during WWII and the Korean War. She lost her first husband (Theodore) to a heart attack. Eight years later, she met Robert Young [deceased], also a military man, fighting in the Pacific during WWII. Together they traveled through Canada and much of our own country. Virginia was a very giving person, devoting over 50 years to the Eastern Star, helping others that were less fortunate.
