Virginia E. Hampton Obituary
Virginia E. Hampton

Virginia E. Hampton died Monday, April 7, 2014 at Pete's Place in Torrance, CA, where she received loving and tender care for the last five years of her life.

Born in Bonifay, FL, on January 20, 1923, Virginia moved to Redondo Beach, CA in 1950. She is survived by her two daughters, Elle Oliver of Torrance, CA and Betty Wiley of Keizer, OR; three granddaughters and six great-grandchildren.

Virginia worked for McCulloch Corporation as a chain saw inspector in the 1950s and 1960s, and later worked as a bookkeeper. She enjoyed square and round dancing, loved cats and dogs, never met a stranger and rarely ever lost a game of Scrabble.

She was a member of Ocean Gate Baptist Church in Hawthorne, CA, and looked forward to the day when she would join her parents and siblings in heaven.

The family will have a private celebration of her life at a later date. Please sign the guest book at www.dailybreeze.com/obits.
