(Gligo) Messer

Virginia Messer, 102, died peacefully March 14, 2015 in San Mateo, California, where she had spent the past 7+ years living in a residential care home. Vickie was born across the street from Mission Dolores Park in San Francisco, California. Just before she started school, her family moved to San Pedro where she graduated from San Pedro High School. Vickie was an accomplished pianist, and also enjoyed playing the organ. She always appreciated a good day of shopping, square dancing, seeing the night lights of the San Francisco skyline, Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm, and road trips. Vickie will be lovingly remembered for her vibrant personality. She was always full of life and on the go! Vickie is survived by her daughters, Virginia Gianoli of San Bruno, Betty Delgado of Visalia, Patricia Colburn of Visalia, and Marilyn Smith of Petaluma; along with 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren, and one nephew Ron Ungaro. She was predeceased by her husband, Lynwood Messer in 1998. The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to the caregivers at Rosie's Home for the Aged for their kindness, care and concern provided during the years Vickie was a resident in the home.
