Vivian E. Terlazzo Obituary
April 12, 1916 - June 17, 2011

It is with great sadness that the family of Vivian Elaine Terlazzo announces her passing. She died peacefully in her sleep at the age of 95. Vivian was born and raised in York, PA, the daughter of Raymond Sourbier and Edna Sipe. Her dream was to become a teacher but at the young age of 15 she met the love of her life, 2 time Olympic Gold
medalist, Anthony Terlazzo. They married in 1932 and eventually relocated to Southern California. Their life was a happy one until his death in 1966. To fill the void in her life, she volunteered at various pre-schools and did private tutoring prior to becoming a teacher's aide for the Torrance Unified School District. She retired in 1989 at the age of 73 and lived independently in Long Beach until she was 91. Vivian spent her entire life helping others and believing the best in people. Her door was always open and she made many friends over coffee and cookies. Her warm smile, gentle kindness and lucky scarves will be remembered and greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. She is survived by her son, Barry; and daughter, Lisa. A memorial service will be held at Bixby Knolls Towers, 3747 Atlantic Ave in Long Beach on Saturday, July 9 at 3:00pm.
